LTMS Mission Statement

Learning is the mission of LTMS where great minds are developed in Lexington’s School of Choice. This is achieved through the delivery of integrated curricula rich in communication and creativity from master teachers who seek continual self and school improvement while providing a climate of mutual respect between the families, the community, and the school. Students will actively participate in their school through engaging technology and arts-enriched lessons as they grow towards academic mastery.

SBDM Council

There will be a Special Called Meeting of the SBDM Council on Thursday, March 23rd at 5:30 pm in the Library Media Center. AGENDA

KPREP Testing Dates – Volunteers Needed

The dates for this year’s state testing have been officially set for Fayette County.  The five day testing window runs from Tuesday, May 2nd to Monday, May 8th.  It is very important that students be present for each day of testing.  Please make arrangements now for any appointments they may have during this time.  The school is also in need of a few parent volunteers to monitor the hallways and restrooms during testing.  If you are able to help, please contact Ms. Mattingly at


The next meeting of the PTSA will be on March 23rd.  The primary focus at this time is to arrange nominating committees for the SBDM parent representatives and the PTSA board for next year.  Support for end of the year activities in the school will also be discussed.


Congratulations to the LTMS Band students on their annual assessments.  The 6th grade band had 43 students receive distinguished ratings from ALL FOUR assessment judges last week.  The 7th & 8th grade bands received three distinguished ratings and one proficient rating.

MAP Testing

Students in all 3 grade levels will be MAP testing this week in Math.  Please remind your students of the importance of trying their best on this test.  These scores will be used to help determine their class placements for next year.


The Cat's Post (LTMS' online newspaper) will meet March 23 and March 27 directly after school until 5:15. Please attend all three meetings!! Your words have power and your words may be published!! We will not meet again until after spring break!

The Spring Advisory Meeting is scheduled for April 20th.  Please mark your calendars to attend.  Parent input is important and needed.

Incoming BSHS Freshman Parents

Nominations are now open for the parent representatives on the SBDM Council.  Nomination forms are available in the LTMS front office.  You may also request one by email to or by contacting the BSHS PTSA President, Ashley Herndon, at 859-536-3167.

Bryan Station High School Dance Team

Dance clinics will be held for any student interested in dancing with the BSHS Dance Team on March 23rd, March 30th, April 13th and April 20th from 4 to 6.  Clinics will be held in the BSHS cafeteria.  All black or BSHS spirit wear is preferred attire, but anything the student can dance in comfortably is fine.  These are NOT actual try outs, but skills and conditioning clinics for those who are interested to see what the team is all about.

LTMS 2016-2017 Volleyball

If you are interested in playing volleyball for LTMS next year, there is a parent meeting on Thursday, May 12th in the LTMS Library at 4:30pm.  Valuable information about summer camps, tryouts and season schedules will be discussed.  Tryouts will begin the 3rd week of July.  If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Spitz.
